A native of the Yarra Valley, Kristy Burrows has practiced law in Mooroolbark since 2005, servicing the outer eastern suburbs and the Yarra Valley area. She completed her Bachelor of Laws (LLB honours) in 2004. Prior to her legal career, Kristy worked in the real estate industry with Methven Professionals Real Estate for six years. Her extensive experience has given her strong expertise in Commercial & Business Law, Property Law, Estate Planning and Retirement & Aged Care.

Kristy is very relationship focused. She prides herself on establishing and maintaining strong ongoing relationships with clients. Excellent customer service and reliability is a high priority in her work. She is approachable, down to earth, reliable and trustworthy. Kristy loves the law and has since she discovered the subject in year 9!

Proudly, Kristy’s family has a long history in the area, dating back to her great grandmother, who served as the Launching Place station mistress when the train travelled through the Upper Yarra Valley. Kristy continues her family’s long tradition of community involvement through her participation in the Upper Yarra Netball Association and the Yarra Junction & Wandin Football Netball Club. She also served on the board of Melba Support Services Inc for seven years, serving as Vice President for three years.

Having worked in Mooroolbark for over 20 years, Kristy has a strong connection with the Mooroolbark community and its business owners. As the Secretary of the Mooroolbark Traders and Community Group Kristy enjoys making a contribution to foster growing community spirit, connect with other traders within the community and encourage partnership in community initiatives.

Kristy lives in the Yarra Valley with her partner and their two young sons.

Building the teams’ expertise in leasing, and general and commercial property, Liz joined Yarra Ranges Lawyers in early 2017, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Liz’s vast experience includes retail leasing throughout Australia, working with local government on commercial advisory teams, business acquisitions and sales, liquor licensing, crown leasing, water law, local law amendments, commercial property transfers, boundary realignment and general leasing.

Having worked across many jurisdictions, Liz has been a Company Secretary and General In-house Counsel, providing board advice and reporting to the Chairperson, CEO and CFO. In this role Liz provided general advice, board papers, local government, property and commercial work.

Driven by a passion for resolving problems for people, Liz works to get the best results for her clients.

Living locally, Liz loves spending time with her family and supporting her children in their after school activities, which include dancing and basketball.

Delivering excellent service to her clients, backed by more than 25 years experience, Michelle’s broad range of skills combined with her pragmatic and personal approach has made her an asset to the Yarra Ranges Lawyers team.

Michelle has seen significant changes within the conveyancing industry over the years, and in fact, in how people access legal services. However, her commitment to good old-fashioned etiquette, and her thorough approach and attention to detail, have ensured she continues to make property transactions a smooth, stress free process for her clients.

In her spare time, Michelle enjoys horse riding and spending time with her animals at her property.

Having worked alongside Kristy for more than 7 years, Belinda Tabone brings Conveyancing and Legal support to the team at Yarra Ranges Lawyers.

Completing an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (Conveyancing) in 2010 and having worked both in a legal secretarial support role for over 5 years as well as in Bookkeeping and Accounts Manager positions previously, Belinda’s wealth of knowledge is an asset to her clients.

Belinda is driven by a passion and commitment that is evidenced not just in her work but also in her personal life. Having lived locally with her family for the last 16 years, Belinda is very active within the community holding various voluntary roles with Mooroolbark Auskick, Mooroolbark Junior Football Club, Saints Junior Basketball and at her children’s primary school.

Property Lawyer 

Emily has joined Yarra Ranges Lawyers to head up our Property/Conveyancing Division bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience. After completing a Master of Laws (Juris Doctor), Emily worked as a paralegal for a small firm in Melbourne’s CBD and then a property lawyer at a suburban law practice. As an experienced property Lawyer, Emily excels at meeting deadlines, paying attention to detail and managing client expectations under often difficult circumstances in a very competitive environment.

Emily is a pioneer in e-Conveyancing who leads and trains her own team of experts.

Emily is an accomplished athlete with very high standards. Emily leads by example and is highly regarded by her work colleagues.

With over 30 years legal industry experience in Wills and Probate, Conveyancing and Commercial matters, Michelle believes our point of difference is excellent personalised customer service, attention to detail and working effectively to achieve the best possible outcome for our clients.

Sharing great empathy with our client’s journey Michelle thrives on the opportunity to help our clients navigate through the challenge of finalising a loved family member’s Estate matter. Michelle works with a hands-on compassionate, common sense and problem solving approach to ensure all matters proceed as smoothly as possible.

Michelle’s family was raised in the local area and she was keenly involved in her children’s schooling, karate club, basketball and riding clubs. Michelle enjoys volunteering with the RSPCA, Animal Aid and the Soup Van. When at home, Michelle love spending time with family, friends and her menagerie of animals.
